About Old Testament Survey 2026

Old Testament Survey

This course is an overview of the Old Testament highlighting its organization, overall themes, historical context, major events, as well as key ideas, people and the message of each book. Participants will be introduced to the geographical background and literature of the Old Testament to understand the place of each book in God’s progressive revelation and discover the elements of Old Testament worship.

Course Objectives:

To develop a real appreciation for and enjoyment of the Old Testament.

To identify the purpose and message of the Old Testament.

To Identify and understand the divisions of the Old Testament.

To become familiar with characters and events of the Old Testament narrative in hopes of helping people grow in their faith and appreciation of scripture. 

To discover God’s plan of worship and sacrifice for His people under the first covenant.

Because space is limited we request that each of you be mindful of registering for courses only when you are certain of attending, allowing others the chance to participate as well. In addition, While enthusiasm is appreciated, it's crucial to ensure that everyone has an equal chance to benefit from these opportunities so we ask that you do not register for more than two courses each semester.
